Tone - The speaker is informative and persuasive. He persuades you that kids should keep it simplistic while they're still young.
Word Choice - At the beginning he uses complex and high vocabulary, but as the poem continues the vocabulary goes down becoming more simple as the speaker continues to talk about cartoons.
Imagery - In the first stanza, he gives us an image of an infinite universe that is expanding and violent. In the fifth stanza he gives us images of a cartoon example.
Style - The sentences slowly become more simple and/or compound from complex sentences. His point-of-view is that children should be here, instead of a higher level of thinking, for now.
Theme - A child is blissfully ignorant of the reality of life early on. A child shouldn't know all there is to know and should start at the basic level: cartoons.
